Common questions
Is Haven a law firm or giving me legal advice?
No. Haven provides general information about divorce processes, not legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Think of it as a knowledgeable guide who helps you understand your situation and prepare better questions for your attorney. See our
full disclaimer.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your conversations and case data are encrypted in transit and at rest. Haven never sells your data or uses it for advertising. Conversations are processed through Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. See our
Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your profile page at any time — no email required, no waiting. Your access continues until the end of your billing period. For annual plans, we don't offer prorated refunds, but you'll keep full access through the year you've paid for.
What if my divorce takes longer than a year?
US divorces average 12–18 months but can run longer. If you're on an annual plan and need more time, you can renew at the same rate. If you're on monthly, you can cancel when your divorce finalizes — you're never locked in.
Does Haven work in my state?
Yes. Haven covers all 50 US states and tailors information to your state's specific divorce laws, court procedures, and timelines. You'll set your state during onboarding.
Can my attorney see my Haven case file?
Only if you share it. Haven has a read-only attorney share link you can generate from your case file — a secure link that gives your attorney view-only access to your organized case details. Nothing is shared automatically.
